In the first quarter right of the bat, it could be seen that it would be a tough time for the Valley boys, "with Life Christian's starting point guard and smallest player at 5'9" equaling to all most the height of our tallest player we knew the tonight had the potential to be a long one for us," said coach Pearson.
The boys could not connect with the basket, even if they were presented a scoring opportunity. The score at halftime was 32-11, and the Vikings just couldn't keep Life Christian from scoring. Select moments were presented to Valley to score, but even these moments were rare.
Though the scoring gap was vast, the Vikings never gave up: "We always talk about a true determination of character is how we handle adversity; boy did we face that tonight, and our players passed with flying colors. It would have been pretty easy for most people to give up and not play hard, however not one person on our team chose that option," said coach Pearson.
The Vikings scored 17 points in the final half of the game, and Life Christian scored 36 points. The final score came to 68 to 28 in Life Christian's favor.
