Pattillos named 2015 Tree Farmers of the Year
Greg and Sue Pattillo of Pacific County are The Washington Tree Farm Program's "Washington Tree Farmers of the Year" for 2015. Their award was announced at the May 1st Washington Farm Forestry Association Annual Meeting at The Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound.
Anyone who took part in the recreational razor clam dig from coastal beaches from Long Beach north to Kalaloch on Thursday, May 7 should destroy all razor clams harvested due to high levels of the marine toxin, domoic acid.
Fire dept. pumps out another winner
A tip of the fire helmet to the Raymond Fire Department, for producing another triple alarm chili for the South Bend Kiwanis Scholarship Fund Chili Cook-Off.
All three of the schools attended track meets this past week, South Bend attended the Pacific League meet at Naselle along with Willapa Valley, and Raymond attended the Freshman Invitational at the Tiger Stadium in Centralia. South Bend came in 17th place with eight8 points total at their meet, while Willapa Valley came in at fifth place with 38 points at their meet. The Freshman Invitational that Raymond attended didn't not provide team scores.
As the 2015 election year fast approaches there are 51 open positions in several cities and at several levels of local government.
