Before you dash out into the garden, I hope you stroll around DOWNTOWN and UPTOWN and take a look at all the exciting developments happening in CASTLE ROCK. There are lots of new businesses opening, and we will be reporting weekly on those, so watch for our announcements.

Now for events: last weekend we had the S & M CHALLENGE and it was another big success! Let’s give a special thanks to our city officials and our volunteers who gave many hours for our enjoyment. CASTLE ROCK has many more wonderful family events planned this year, so let’s get out and support and enjoy.

For those that read our new business announcement recently, FRONT AVENUE MASSAGE @ 211 Front Street South is offering the CR School District employees a free 20 minute massage this week, between the hours of 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Make your appointments @ (360) 751-6328 with Christina or Tammy @ (360) 751-4366.

I’ve also noticed something exciting on the HAIRCUT EXPRESS sign on Huntington Avenue, so take a look as you drive or stroll by, and ask Nancy about her new services at the shop. We will be starring her shop and others on our BEAUTY PAGE coming soon. Nancy is one of the special women who keep CR successful with new services and innovation that keep us looking good.

Speaking of looking good, many volunteers organized by Nancy Chennault, who owns The Plant Station @ 953 Sandy Bend Rd., are busy preparing the city for our enjoyment by planting spring flowers and gorgeous shrubs along our main streets. Let’s thank them, as we see them working.

THE SENIOR CENTER’S EVENTS THIS WEEK INCLUDE: A Potluck on Tuesday, at 11 a.m., and a Potluck Friday at 12 p.m. The CAP provided lunch on Wednesday is Beef Stroganoff at 11:30 a.m. (Reservations and Donations appreciated). Area businesses don’t forget to get your order in for those yummy baked potatoes by calling (360) 274-7502. The next potato days for this month are March 25 and 28, and REMEMBER THAT VOLUNTEERS DELIVER for those businesses who can’t get away. All of us are welcome to ordertoo, and eat at the Center and enjoy the activities and fun, or take outs are provided, for those who prefer.

LACEY RHA’S CAFE will be offering a special treat to celebrate St. Patricks Day. Irish Stew, a side salad with dinner roll and dessert is $9.25. The fun starts @ 11 a.m. till its gone - so don’t miss your chance.

For those of you who are new to the area, Coni has been dedicated to quality food for many years, and she personally prepares her fare six days a week. Open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday, I usually see her arriving to prepare her homemade scones and other fresh treats at 5:30am, so check out her special place on our main street.

Till next week, keep your announcements coming in to me by phone or text at (360) email @, or by mail @ PO BOX 630.
