SOUTH BEND - The Recording Academy has placed local progressive-metal band CHROMUS on the 2016 Official Ballot for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards.
CHROMUS earned the honor on the Awards Ballot in two categories for the songs:
* Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, "Disillusion Man"
* Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, "Under the Ruins"
The official announcement was made October 29th after 31,000 entries were sent in to the 2016 Grammy Awards, of which only 191 made the Official Ballot in the category of Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Vocals.
"Disillusion Man" was written by Don Bird and "Under the Ruins" was written Phil Davis.
"The Facebook, ReverbNation, and RadioAirplay.com response has truly been amazing," Davis said. "On RadioAirplay, we have over 2,100 fans who have all written us about our music. Nice."
Band members include Phil Davis, keyboards, producer-engineer; Don Bird, bass and keyboards; Max Davis, electric guitar; Scott Karnas, lead vocals; Mike Peterson, drums; and Gordo Lynn, assistant producer, engineering, mixing.
