SOUTH BEND - The Pacific County Commissioners started their regular meeting (June 23) with an announcement: "As we begin the next meeting, I have an important announcement to make," said County Commissioner Steve Rogers. "It seems that we have among us the Washington State Association of City Engineers Rural County Engineer of the Year. That would be Mr. Mike Collins."

After County Commissioner Rogers was done presenting the award to Collins, the board approved the consent agenda with 12 items. The consent agenda approved vendor claims and also acknowledged the resignation of Human Services Program Specialist, Melissa Sexton, which will be effective July 8.

After the consent agenda was approved, the commissioners moved the meeting along to items regarding the Department of Public Works. First they approved the posting of a Planning Technician position that is available as well as an Administrative Assistant position.

Moving the meeting along, the commissioners acknowledged the resignation of Andi Day from the fair board. After the Pacific County Commissioners adopted a new resolution that changed the policies of intergovernmental Internet, email, telephone and media use, the meeting was over and the commissioners initiated an Executive Session.

The next Pacific County Commissioners meeting will be held at the South Bend Courthouse Annex on July 14, at 9 am.
