County Clerk Kathy Brack has announced her bid for re-election and says she is hoping to continue running an effective staff and preserving the record of Lewis County Superior Court.
"The purpose of the Clerk's Office is to serve the public and the Superior Court," she said. "I have always believed these were of equal importance and that the people coming to the Clerk's Office deserve capable and helpful attention. An office is only as good as its staff. I believe the public finds my workers prompt, friendly, and responsive. Those are the qualities I have sought to instill.
"Within the records of the Clerk's Office lies the history of Lewis County. We provide and protect those records and are currently working on conversion to digital images for providing easier public access to our records. We are looking forward to being one of two Clerk's Offices in the state to test a new Superior Court Case Management System. I believe that says a lot about statewide confidence in the competence of this office. There is always room to improve. If there's a better way of doing things, you will find me open to change and improvement."
In addition to serving as Lewis County Superior Court Clerk, Brack serves on the Salvation Army Board, Lewis County Bar Legal Aid Board, the Community Mediation Board, and is a member and past president of Chehalis Rotary. She and her husband, Glenn, reside in Toledo and have four adult children.
