Longview man submerges car in Winlock crash

A Longview man is safe despite almost drowning during a vehicle collision Saturday, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

The 22-year-old driver of a Volkswagen Rabbit had been traveling near Milepost 2 on Winlock-Vader Rd. at around 10 p.m. when he lost control after encountering standing water on the roadway and drove into a water-filled ditch.

The vehicle was fully submerged when responders arrived, though the driver had extricated himself beforehand. The car was considered a total loss.

Man arrested for assault of Winlock woman

An Onalaska man has been arrested after allegedly threatening the life of his estranged girlfriend March 3, according to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office.

Dylan J. Brossett, 20, was contacted by deputies after the victim, a 22-year-old Winlock woman, reported Brossett had stated he was going to kill her while the two were having an argument on the 100 block of Josephine Loop, north of Onalaska. The victim also said Brossett had assaulted her a few days before.

Brossett was booked into the Lewis County Jail for felony harassment and referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor's Office for fourth-degree domestic assault and fourth-degree attempted domestic assault.

Winlock man arrested for stealing, selling guns

A Winlock man has been arrested for allegedly stealing and selling four guns to support a heroin habit, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

Michael K. Davidson, 29, was arrested Thursday after his father called police to report finding four pawn tickets in Davidson’s bedroom corresponding to two guns the father owns and two guns Davidson’s brother owns. The father said he has routinely inspects Davidson’s room to try and stem his drug use.

Davidson has insisted some of the guns are his own but are being kept by his father due to the subject’s status as a convicted felon.

Davidson was booked into the Lewis County Jail and later charged with theft of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, and trafficking stolen property.

Vader car prowler(s) caught on camera

A Vader resident may have caught a car prowler on Video Thursday, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

The 32-year-old victim told deputies someone had broken into her vehicle on the 100 block of Alpine Ct. at around 2:30 a.m. and stole a Pioneer CD player, two JL Audio speakers and $10 cash, a total loss of around $350. Surveillance footage has been made available to investigators, who are seeking suspect information.

Car stolen from Vader residence

A vehicle was reported stolen from Vader Thursday, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim said his wife had parked their 1992 Honda Accord outside their residence on the 900 block of 10th St. at around 8:30 March 5 and found it missing at around 5 a.m. the next day. The vehicle has been described as a sedan with black steel rims, studded snow tires and a spoiler on the trunk. The estimated loss is around $2,000.
