Second car stolen in Vader this month
Another car theft has been reported in Vader, this time on the 900 block of D St., according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were contacted Saturday by the 50-year-old male victim who said someone had stolen his 1993 Honda Prelude since the night before. It was noted the vehicle had been locked and there were no signs of forced entry.
The Honda is described as red in color with a license plate number of AMA2844. The estimated loss is $3,000.
A 1992 Honda Accord had previously been stolen March 6 from the 900 block of 10th St., while a car prowler is believed to have been caught on camera earlier that day on the 100 block of Alpine Ct.
Investigators need help with Centralia burglary
Investigators are seeking help to solve a burglary taking place in Centralia last month, according to Lewis County Crime Stoppers.
On Feb. 21, on the 3000 block of Cooks Hill Rd., it is believed an unknown number of suspects used a saw to cut a hole into a shop on the property, as well as pried open the door of a single-wide mobile home, before entering the buildings. Stolen were a .270 rifle and ammunition, a 36" television, prescription medication, credit cards and a check book, a Kindle e-reader, an Elgin Evinrude boat motor, assorted tools and a weed eater. The estimated loss is around $2,400.
The theft is believed to have taken place between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., and those with information are encouraged to contact law enforcement.
