A Christmas wonderland is currently set up in the Country Closet, which is a landmark business in downtown Aberdeen.
If you're hard pressed to find somebody a gift for the holidays, taking a stroll through the Country Closet might be the remedy.
Shirley Richie has been running the Country Closet in downtown Aberdeen for 30 years, starting the store from an old location that was located just down the street.
Richie made her move when she had been running the store for nearly ten years. It has been nearly twenty years since Richie moved into the current store location, "So when I moved into this store, 19 and a half years ago I just built the store up every year. We'd moved from just around the corner, and it was a fourth of the size of the current shop," said Richie.
The store typically sells holiday themed decor, but there are also gifty nick-nacks scattered throughout the beautifully decorated store. The Country Closet is currently offering chandeliers that do not need to be hard wired, they come with a sort of kit that makes installation simple. The Country Closet also has a new section, the "Baby-Boutique" which is a baby oriented section with clothes and other baby related things, both holiday themed and plain. "I've been doing this alone for 30 years and I think I'll be able to keep doing it. I have a lot of fun, I enjoy decorating, and that's the most important part," said Richie.
