Toledo Baseball Takes 4th at State
The Toledo boys baseball team ended with a pair of losses, but ultimately claimed 4th place with a series of excellent wins in the District and state tournaments. The Indians took it to Wilbur-Creston in the opening round with a 10-3 victory on May 23rd and then defeated league rival Pe Ell/Willapa Valley 6-2 in the second round. In the semi-finals, Toledo dropped a game to Colfax 4-2 and then were blanked 4-0 by De Sales to decide 3rd and 4th place.
The Toledo baseball team finished their season with a final record of 20-8.
Indians Claim two Champions at State Track
Seniors Daniel Echtle and Forrest Wallace were crowned state champions at the WIAA 2B Track and Field Championships on Saturday in Cheney. Echtle won the 110 meter high hurdles with a personal record time of 15.73 while Wallace took the high jump with a final jump of 6'4". Echtle also placed third in the 300 intermediate hurdles and the Toledo boys placed 9th in the state as a team with 26 points. Raymond was crowned the state champion.
Toledo sent 8 athletes to the state track meet while Winlock sent two.
