Even though COVID-19 is still an issue for our country, many are planning Halloween festivities.
Thursday at the Toledo Thursday Market they will have a mini bash as they called it. They will be doing some decorating and have candy for the kids. They will have a place to take pictures, whether you are dressed in a costume or not.
Saturday at the Toledo Elementary School starting at 2:00 p.m. they will have "The Candy Crawl." Toledo Elementary School and the Parent Teacher Organization are sponsoring their first ever Candy Crawl. The event is similar to a trunk or treat. Kids will stop by each Halloween decorated booth to receive candy and small prizes. At the end of the event, families will have an opportunity to drive through the haunted tunnel. Please bring your pop up tent and decorate for the event.
There is also a headless horseman scheduled to take a ride through Toledo starting at dusk. There was a sighting the other day of the headless horseman in the park, I hear he comes out for everyone on Halloween.
The Winlock businesses will once again be giving out candy between the hours of 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The businesses that are participating are along Kerron Ave. up to Progress Square and downtown. The participating businesses have a pumpkin in their windows.
Trunk or Treat event - Set up starts at 3:00 p.m. with the event taking place beginning at 4:30 p.m. The event is for everyone to decorate their trunks for the event and come in costume, if possible. They will be having a prize for the best decorated trunk.
With Halloween and COVID, it is recommended everyone follow social distancing and masks, if possible. It is a difficult time for our young kids, they are not getting the interaction they so desperately need. This is their opportunity to get out and see other kids. Please practice safety measures for everyone.
