Loren Barrigar and Mark Mazengarb have toured extensively in both the USA and in Europe with a rapidly expanding fan base. Little wonder since their guitar duets reflect influences of bluegrass, jazz, Americana, country western and even classical, giving them wide appeal. Their concerts feature instrumentals and vocals, performed with spontaneous creativity.
They first met in 2005 at a guitar camp; Mark was just completing his degree in classical guitar at the University of North Carolina. Loren had been performing for some time but was taking a serious look at acoustic guitar. After the workshop, Mark visited Loren and they spent some time picking guitar - and each other's brains.
They met again in 2009 at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society convention. In 2010, again at the Chet Atkins event, they were on the list of scheduled performers - then, by popular demand of those who had been hearing them all week, they were added to the Saturday night finale.
They recorded their first album together the summer of 2011; both their first and second albums were awarded SAMMY recognition from the Syracuse Area Music Awards. Their most recent album, "Live in Europe," was recorded during their 2013 European tour.
"They create a brilliant stereo sound of two fine guitarists...pretty amazing," said Lloyd Maines, a Grammy award winning producer.
