Many Local Officials Need to Follow Lead of County Commissioners

I’m pleased to report that I have seen a significant improvement in our current Commissioners: Lisa Ayers, Steve Rogers, and Frank Wolfe. I have observed that they are well informed, articulate, and efficient. They have common sense, and are willing to assist citizens in solving their issues.

I believe the County Commissioners set the tone for leadership in the county, the cities, port commissioners, PUD’s, schools, and junior taxing districts who will be viewed by the voters in relation to the Commissioners leadership, and they should clean up their act.

Investors considering Pacific County for business expansion will first look at the county leadership. I believe they will be impressed.

I have always been impressed with our county system of electing independent: sheriff, treasurer, auditor, assessor, county processor…They serve people better when they have a direct line of reporting to the people.

In Pacific County, we still have some bad actors: mayor’s, city council members, PUD commissioners, port commissioners, who are holding us hostage from growth. Many are not qualified and they are there to serve themselves, and not the people. I would encourage these elected officials to attend a Pacific County Commissioners meeting and observe the efficient manner and alertness of true leadership. Hopefully they will get it; or get out.

To Pacific County voters: when deciding how to vote, go with qualifications and leadership qualities. Pacific County is still SOS (stuck on stupid) in too many of our cities, port districts, PUD’s, which has and will keep us in a depressed state with no jobs until the voters make changes.

Thanks to our current county commissioners for their leadership, we deserve the best. Let’s keep this team in place, its working.
