The owners of The Knotty Hooker have taken over ownership of The Quilt Nest.
Jana Gann grew up in Castle Rock, so it was only fitting that she and her husband, Jeff, would open a business in town. Jana opened The Knotty Hooker in 2015 after spending many years in the food service and hotel management industry. With encouragement from Jeff, she opened the small yarn store and her life as a business owner began.
In September of 2016, Jana learned that Tina Keele, owner of The Quilt Nest, was looking to retire.
"After speaking with Tina, she was willing to sell me the store," explained Jana. "Jeff and I sat down and discussed it and felt it was vital to keep this core business in Castle Rock, so we jumped in with both feet and purchased the business."
Jana officially took ownership of the store on Jan. 1 of this year. After doing some updating and remodeling of the interior with the help of Jeff, she combined the inventory of The Quilt Nest and The Knotty Hooker, and the couple is continuing to add new lines and products.
Their goal is to become a one-stop shopping destination for all your fabric and fiber arts needs, as well as encouraging new people to enjoy these arts. They offer classes in quilting, as well as private lessons in knitting and crocheting for all ages and skill levels.
Jana also has get-togethers where crafters can just come and work on a project while visiting with others and enjoying the environment.
"I look forward to the future, and take pride in being a third-generation business owner in our great community," Jana said.
The new store adds to the many updates and revitalization projects that have taken place in the downtown area of Castle Rock, and Jana and Jeff look forward to serving you all for many years to come.
A grand opening celebration for The Quilt Nest and Yarn Boutique will be held on Feb. 16 -18. Stop by for a visit during their grand opening. Jana will be there to show you around.
