Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! The ladies in town will be busy this week with the monthly Women’s Club Salad Luncheon on Wednesday at noon in Pioneer Hall. Then on Thursday, the Red Hatters have their monthly Gathering at 2 p.m., also in Pioneer Hall. If you’re new to Ryderwood, Pioneer Hall is the last building on the right hand side of Morse Street, across 2nd St. from the Park.
There will be a fine chicken dinner at the Church Thursday and the Café’s Friday night dinner menu is prime rib. It might not be too late to make reservations for the prime rib, but the dinner at the Church is sold out.
If you missed those opportunities, there is still the Town Potluck on Saturday evening at 5 p.m. in Community Hall. Ice Cream Social on Sunday evening at 6 p.m., is also in Community Hall.
Monday is President’s Day, which means the Post Office will be closed. There will be Burgers and Soup at the Café on Monday evening. The Nutrition Lunch menu for Tuesday will be Turkey Tetrazzini. Call Jan at (360) 295-0597.
The Castle Rock Concert Band, Chorus and Jazz Band sure put on a super concert out here at the end of SR 506 on Feb. 5. My apology for posting the wrong time in last week’s article. These kids, their families and the school district are to be heartily thanked for providing such fine entertainment. Ryderwood did its part by providing a huge assortment of goodies including pizza.
There was a nice group at the last Acoustic Saturday Night –a certain saxophonist with a recent lung transplant says he’ll be blowing his horn pretty soon. I also hear that there’s talk that Karaoke will return in March. I’ll try to get details.
