Now that another successful Spring Craft Fair has past, visitors and residents are reminded of all the wonderful items available year-round at “The Nest.” Make sure to bring any summer visitors by for a fine selection of things made only in Ryderwood!
The first ever “Taco Friday @ the Café” appeared very popular to customers. A meal of 2 soft tacos with beans, rice and a beverage was available from 4-6 p.m. I’ll try to find out what the volunteer cooks and servers thought and when or if it might happen again.
Jerre Bullen and David Kimball of Ryderwood will perform on Saturday at the Senior Center in Winlock. This is a continuance of the Olequa Concert Series that has outgrown the Morgan Arts Centre. Jerre & Dave will play some Blues and 70's and 80's Rock & Roll. The potluck dinner is at 6 p.m. with music at 7 p.m. For reservations, call Mike Owen: (360) 295-3507, home, or (360) 485-9888, cell. The cost is $10.
I’m pretty sure Dave & Jerre are part of the group that will perform at the 5th Annual Blues Extravaganza on June 8. I overheard that they were using YouTube videos to practice with “Daddy Treetops”, the special guest star.
It’s time to start thinking about the 4th of July. Plan to help Ryderwood celebrate its 90th Birthday with a grand Parade at 10:30 a.m. Ryderwood’s decorated golf carts, lawn mowers, tractors, “kool” machines, etc. join the Fire engines, visiting antique cars / trucks / military, and horses to make for a grand time. Line-up between 10 & 10:30 and plan to stay for BBQ Burgers and Dogs plus the Potluck Picnic at noon in the Park. Start your 4th off right in Ryderwood!
