The Yule Log tradition is celebrated around the world during the Christmas season. On Sunday December 13 at 1 pm Schafer State Park will continue their tradition to Bring in the Yule Log.
Bring the kids, family and friends to eat cookies, drink hot beverages and sing carols around a warm fire.
All of the kids go on a hunt for the Yule Log hidden in the park.
When one of them finds it the kids all pull the log back to the large community hall at the park. There, the youngster who found the log, with supervision and help from others, chops the log in two. The kids then throw half of the log on the big fire in the fireplace and half is saved to kindle the next year's fire.
The Friends of Schafer and Lake Sylvia (FOSLS) revived this celebration five years ago as a way for people to bring everyone together in a natural setting to celebrate the holidays and to help people establish a family/community tradition.

The Discover Pass for vehicle access is required and available at the park.
