The South Bend Robotics team won third place of nine teams Saturday, November 22 at a competition at WF West High School. This specific robotics competition challenged students to construct a robot that could move balls into three towers in a 12 x 12 arena. The South Bend team created the only robot that had a working arm at the competition. "The robotics team is an opportunity for students to be creative with design and engineering and learn things they normally wouldn't learn," adviser Joel Bales explained. The next robotics competition for the team is Dec. 13. From left with robot are Juan Bucio, Jordan Dockter, Oscar Alvarez, AJ Sanchez, and Michael Jané. Not pictured is Koda Boothe.
