Organizers for the Fourth of July Celebration report finances are secure, while potential vendors and entertainers are being sought. So far, a parade is scheduled for 2 p.m., live music from 5 to 9 p.m. and a fireworks display at 10 p.m., all free to the community.

The Vader City Council has extended a deadline to apply for a side sewer replacement grant available to residents within low-to-moderate incomes. The Little Falls Masonic Lodge has announced they will be hosting a Last Word in Beans and Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, June 27, and the public is welcome to attend. The event will last from noon to 3 p.m. at the Little Falls Masonic Lodge (826 A St.), and those wishing to vote on their favorite chilis will be able to purchase tickets at the event.
