Thank you to everyone who turned out for Winlock High School Graduation this year! What a great turnout for a class of only 28 students. We are very proud of the class of 2015 and look forward to what their future brings.
It is hard to believe that Egg Day is just short of two weeks away. As many of you know, I love Egg Day and I enjoy seeing everyone who comes to town. There is a lot going on this year so please join us for the fun. I will be there and so will my Mom, the 1958 Egg Day Queen Diana Sorensen Hoffman. Egg Day has a long history not just in Winlock but also in our family, Kathy Sorensen Brack, my cousin was also an Egg Day Queen. I look forward to this event every year!!
I got a call from Jim who owns the building where Brosey's hardware was before they moved to Toledo. He said he will be having live music 50s and 50s genre on Saturday during Egg Day. There will be a $5 donation and it will begin at 7 pm until 10 p.m. or so... Please come on down and enjoy the wonderful music of the 50s and 60s.
I heard that our Grand Marshall's Viola Chickese and Jeanie Emmenegger will be riding in the Seahawk Truck, what a great ride and it shows our support of the Seattle Seahawks all the way down here!
Also Hop Shop Inflatables will be at Egg Day again this year and don't forget about the 5K Scrambled Egg Day Family Friendly Fun Run. The most important part of Egg Day to me is the Egg Salad Sandwiches, those are my favorite!
The Winlock-Olequa Senior Center is having Zumba every Monday and Wednesday Evening from 6-7 p.m., come on down and dance away.
The Winlock Library will be taking part in a Comic Strip Contest and a Minecraft Contest starting this Wednesday, June 10, and running through Aug. 31. Both contests allow kids to exercise their creative abilities, and the winners will be featured on the Timberland Regional Library District's Facebook and Tumblr pages.
