Winlock places first at Massed Choir Festival

Winlock placed first among small schools at the Southwest Washington Massed Choir Festival hosted in Onalaska March 19. (Above) Select students from participating schools, including Winlock, perform in the Honor Choir before the finale of the event under the direction of Donna Huffman, Centralia College music instructor. A Similar event, the Massed Band Festival, will be taking place at Winlock High School May 14 and all are invited.

 

Members of the Winlock High School Choir with their Best Performance trophy, for which they were selected among the small schools participating. Depicted are Lexi Larivee, Samantha Rosbach, Nadia Shouw, Monica Olson, Sheryl Bussing, Siera Hartman, Jessica Faris, Heather Carlson, Marlene Melton, Gwen Lentz, Daulton Vanorsdol, and Jonathon Whitney. Tenino was given first place among the large schools, and other participants included Onalaska, Pe Ell, Toutle Lake, Napavine, Toledo, and Mossyrock. Winlock music instructor Karl Scarborough said, "The kids did great, in fact, all the participating choirs did great!"
