In addition to having a great bowl of chili, you can take satisfaction in knowing you are contributing to a great scholarship fund for students.  Many local students have received help to achieve their goal of obtaining higher education.

There are six contestants this year, including 4H, Boy Scouts, Jailhouse Chili, Courthouse Chili, the Pitchwood, and the defending champs, the South Bend School Lunch Ladies.

The contest is a blind taste test. You will be able to taste all six entries, and have a full bowl of your favorite chili. The winner will have his/her/their name added to the prestigious plaque that resides with the winner during the year.

So, mark your calendar for Saturday, March 22 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the South Bend school cafeteria. The $5 ticket price includes the chili, chili fixins, cornbread, drinks, and brownies.  There will also be hot dogs on sale for $1, in case you'd like to create a great chili dog.
