Vance Owen Johnson is charged with official misconduct and reckless driving in Pacific County North District Court.
Johnson is accused of driving recklessly on March 28, 2014, while off duty.
Johnson no longer works for the Sheriff's Office.
The Attorney General's Office is prosecuting the case at the request of the Pacific County Prosecutor's Office. The lead prosecutor is Assistant Attorney General Bill Sherman.
The charges were filed in South Bend District Court. The maximum penalty for each charge is 364 days in jail, or a $5000 fine pursuant to RCW 9A.80.010(2) and RCW 9A.20.021(2), plus restitution, assessments and court costs.
