"This was a good match for us to get our game faces back on," SBHS Head Volleyball Coach Jacki Sanchez told the Herald. "I thought the kids went out focused to play with discipline and intensity, and they succeeded with a win.
"We had a really powerful offense tonight, which was led by Rielly Myers (12 kills), Paola Razo (6 kills), and Alison Funkhouser (5 kills)," Coach Sanchez noted. "Funkhouser, Myers, and Emily Sanchez did a good job of setting up the offense.
"Leading us defensively was Sanchez (14 digs), Funkhouser (13 digs), and Morgan Patterson (13 digs)," Coach Sanchez said. "The team had a great night of serving at 95 percent."

Last Tuesday (Oct. 7), the Lady Indians lost a closely contested match versus visiting Northwest Christian of Lacey. The Navigators won 25-18, 25-22, 25-19.
"This was a match where we played very hard, and we had some good moments," Coach Sanchez said. "It just felt like we were always five points behind the entire match.
"Northwest Christian returns the league's MVP Megan Van Marter, and we really struggled matching up with her up at the net," Sanchez said. "It was nice to see our team always playing hard and playing to win. Our success this night was measured by effort, and I believe we did fantastic. Set up by Emily Sanchez and Alison Funkhouser, Rielly Myers led all attacks with 11 kills. Sanchez followed with 7 kills, and Paola Razo had 5 kills. Morgan Patterson provided good hustle."
