The agenda for the April 1, Pacific County Public Utility Commissioners meeting was fairly straightforward. Commissioners took time to highlight service awards for eight employees that total 105 years of service to the PUD. A couple of service extensions were approved and the members worked resolution 1350 to allow tax-exempt and taxable series of Electric System Revenue Bonds in 2014 that would save $500,000 for customers.
Students from Willapa Valley High School spoke to the panel about a project that they are involved in, “Imagine Tomorrow”. The project, a Washington State University annual high school problem-solving competition, awards students to seek alternate energy sources. After a short discussion with the students, it was suggested that they also utilize social media outlets to further project their involvement in the project.
The next meeting for the PUD Commissioners takes place 1 pm, April 15 in Long Beach.
