I'm here to tell you that the Sweet Swing! Concert on Sunday was well worth the price of admission! Those gals can really belt out the swing-time tunes made famous by the Andrews Sisters. The show was very patriotic and put a tear in the eye on more than one occasion. There was a WWII veteran, a "Rosie the Riveter" and many veterans representing all branches of the military in the audience. It was definitely a special afternoon!

Coming up this Sunday is Ryderwood's annual FireWise Expo. It will be held at Pioneer Hall from 12 - 2 p.m. Members of the Fire Department will be there to answer questions. There will be a drawing for a fire extinguisher as well as some for sale. Plan to stop by and have some refreshments and show your support for the program.

I've gotten brave and started asking my neighbors if they've seen many raccoons this summer and with the exception of one person who lives in the far north corner of town, the report is folks are not seeing raccoons. Those of us with grapes are very aware of their absence because they haven't pulled the vines down. It's a mystery to me...

Until next week...
