The past week’s fairly dry weather also brought us a pretty snowfall. It was a good two inches and it stayed around for a couple of days. The streets weren’t too bad as long as you didn’t have to go anywhere. The downside was it’s been pretty darn cold.
The ladies are busy this week with the Women’s Club luncheon meeting on Wednesday at noon and Red Hats ladies meeting on Thursday at 2 p.m. Both take place in Pioneer Hall and all ladies are invited to attend.
Acoustic Saturday Night is back on track for the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month. Paul Van Dyck on the piano is an excellent accompanist as well as host. The line-up is different every week so it’s a surprise to all. The first gathering of the New Year will be this Saturday evening at 7 p.m. in the Café.
Chicken Tetrazzini will be Friday night’s dinner entree at the Café. The meal includes salad, bread, veggies, beverage plus an ice cream sundae. Call Linda at 295-0875 to make reservations and make payment arrangements. The meal is served at 5 p.m. and the cost is $8 each.
The Senior Nutrition menu for Tuesday the 15th is: Pork Chops w/ Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Peas & Carrots, Sliced Oranges and Bread Pudding. These meals are prepared at CAP’s new “Grounds for Opportunity” Café and training facility. Call Jan at 295-0597.
About the Friday dinners: Menus are planned a month in advance with a volunteer chef plus many helpers providing a sit-down meal each week that includes beverage, salad and dessert. The cost is usually $8 per meal. Advance reservations and payment are necessary by Wednesday so that fresh ingredients can be purchased on Thursday.
