It's not too late to make plans to attend Ryderwood's Community Thanksgiving Dinner. Just so I don't give out misinformation, give Sharon (360-353-8745) a head's up if you haven't already signed up. I'm pretty sure there's no problem unless you're bringing a small army.
There won't be a dinner on Friday night at the Café and I don't have the menu for next week's Senior Nutrition. Whatever it is, it will be a real bargain at $3! Call me at (360) 295-3813 or (360) 355-7315 to make or break reservations.
There will be Karaoke on Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the Café. It's a pretty regular group and they're pretty darned good! Everyone has a grand time, for sure. Come out and join the fun.
It doesn't look like much is happening next week, but there is a lot going on behind the scenes in preparation for various upcoming holiday events. The first is the Red Hats Outing and Decoration Exchange to Parker's Restaurant in Castle Rock on the 4th. The ladies will leave the Café at noon all decked out in their red and purple.
The following week has the RWCS ladies presenting the Christmas program at the Toledo Presbyterian Church on Dec. 11 - contact Carol at (360) 295-3799 for details. They will report on their Operation Christmas Child Project made possible with the proceeds of their semi-annual Bake Sales. The group delivered an all-time high of 47 boxes this year.
Meanwhile, many elves are busy shopping and planning for the upcoming Cheer Bag Delivery (Dec. 20) and Christmas Party (Dec. 22). More on those activities later.
Did I mention decorations? Some lights and ornaments are out on display and I expect to see more once we get past "turkey day".
Happy Thanksgiving, all! "If there's a choice between being right and being kind, you'll always be right if you're kind."
