Castle Rock Baseball

The Rocket boys lost their first round game to Hoquiam in the District IV Baseball Tournament but turned around to defeat Kalama 9-2. Shawn Godinho went 5 1/3 innings of successful pitching to hook the Chinooks. The Rockets kept their chances alive with a 2-1 victory over Tenino. In the 3rd/4th seeding game, Montesano dropped CR 19-10, which send the Rockets to face Connell in Moses Lake Saturday.

Castle Rock Fastpitch

The Lady Rockets salvaged one of three with a trio of games with rival Kalama. On May 12, they dropped the first game of a doubleheader 5-3 but turned around and earned the split with a 4-1 victory. On Thursday, Kalama eked out a 1-0 victory over the Lady Rockets. Finishing the regular season with a record of 12-7 and 7-5 in league, Castle Rock will play Montesano in the first round of the District IV Tournament Wednesday in Centralia.

Castle Rock Track

The CR boys were 5th in the Trico League Championships while Talib Meeks qualified for the District IV 1A Track and Field Championships in the 100 meters, shot put and discus. He was league champion in the latter two events. Dylan Libby also qualified in the high jump. The CR boys sent a 4 X 100 meter relay team including Meeks, Nate Myklebust, Jacob Wilbur and Troy Werly. The Lady Rockets qualified Auna Dolan in the 100 and 200 meters, Madison Epperson in the two mile, and Tali Duff in the high jump.

Toledo Baseball

The Indians are on to state in baseball with a successful District IV run. They began the tournament with a 9-8 victory over Wahkiakum and then dropped the next round to Pe Ell. They returned to the win column with a 4-2 victory over Toutle Lake and then a 10-inning, 4-3 thriller over Adna. Toledo is now 18-6 on the year and will play Wilbur-Creston Saturday at Mossyrock High School.

Toledo Track

Toledo boys placed 4th in the 2B Central League Track Championships while the girls placed 6th. The boys were led by Daniel Ecthle who won the 100 high hurdles, 300 intermediat hurdles and placed third in the Triple Jump. Forrest Wallace placed first in the high jump and then grabbed 3rd in the intermediate hurdles and 4th in the triple jump. Other Indians to qualify for the District IV Championships in Raymond this Thursday include Ashton Fraser in the 1600 and 3200 meters, Jared Pohll in the 1600 meters. On the girls side, Ally Bacon had a big day capturing 2nd in the javelin and 3rd in the 100 meters behind Courtney Moore. Bacon also qualified for district in the 200 meters. Moore also qulified in the long jump and tripple jump. Davinagrace Ramon was steady in the 300 intermediate hurdles while Josie Bowen placed 2nd in the shot put and 6th in the discus and triple jump.

Winlock Track

Evan Mitchell advanced to the District IV Track and Field Championships in the 400 Meters and Javelin while teammate Sarah Howsden qualified in the javelin as well.
