Winlock’s United Methodist Church would like to extend their thanks to Vonda McFadden for a great four years. Vonda has been reassigned to the Kelso sect, and the congregation is sad to see her go. Thanks for everything, Vonda! You will do great things.
My congratulations to all the students out there…school is just about out. The last day for Winlock schools is scheduled for Friday. Evaline Elementary will let out early on Thursday. To the parents of these same students, my condolences. You’re in for a long summer.
Well, the Olequa Senior Center has elected a new advisory board, and it runs as follows: Donna Giberson, JoAnn Hepner, Kathy Korpi, Don McDougall, Dwaine Miller, JoAnne Parkison, JoAnn Porter, Kathy Stelzner, Darlene Woodmansee, and Joan Zimmerman. Good luck, you guys.
On Thursday, June 20, the Colonial Residence will be hosting a lunch at noon at the senior center. If you’re interested in attending, please call the center at (360) 785-4325 to make reservations. There is no charge, but donations are always welcome.
The Winlock Timberland Library’s summer reading programs are about to begin. As of Friday, children of all ages are invited to head to the library to sign up for the summer reading program. For children, it’s "Dig Into Reading", and "Beneath the Surface for Winlock teenagers. You can pick up your kit any time on or after that day.
On Wednesday, June 19, the library has scheduled Dig Into Art. Children are welcome to come in any time that day to delve into their creative sides with a drop-in art activity. These Summer Reading events are part of a Timberland Regional Library district-wide program. For more information on these or future events, please contact the library at (360) 785-3461.
