I thought it was time for a little stroll down memory lane for those of us who have been around Winlock for a while. How many of you remember the old school? There was a school in Winlock when I was young that was both the grade school, middle school and high school all rolled in to one. I can remember being a kid in the old school and the upstairs was roped off, we were sure the upstairs was haunted and that is why they had it roped off. There were also posts that were by the football field and boy did we jump those, we used to see who could jump the highest one without hurting oneself. This was a time when Winlock was a town like Mayberry, everyone knew everyone and no one was a stranger.

Don't forget that this Saturday is the monthly bingo fest down at the Winlock Community Center. The fun begins at 6:30pm and there are snacks that can be purchased. This is a great event that they hold monthly to raise funds for the community center. This building has been the center of activities for many years and many of us would like to see it continue so if you haven't had the opportunity to attend one of these monthly events, this could be your month to win.
The Winlock Improvement Network will have their next meeting on the 9th of January at 6:00pm at Guadalajara restaurant. I have been hearing excellent things about this group and they are just beginning. If you want to be on the ground floor of this committee and help make Winlock the town many of us remember then please consider joining this group. Winlock is a great community and with the Improvement Network hard at work, it will only improve.
February 1st at 7pm the Lioness club will hold their monthly meeting. The Lioness group does so much for our kids, I just want to say Thank you for all you do...
