It’s hard to believe that it’s Thanksgiving already. Jeez, where did the summer go? And autumn disappeared in the blink of an eye. On that note, did we even have fall? It felt like one day it was warm, and everyone was in shorts complaining about droughts, and then it was cold and rainy. There wasn’t even much in the way of fall colors. Such is Washington weather, I suppose.

Even so, I’m very much looking forward to Thanksgiving this year. I’m eating at a friend’s place, so I don’t have to even cook that much. After some of the holidays I’ve had in recent years, that sounds just like heaven. Oh, well. On with the show…

Both the Winlock School District and Evaline Elementary will be releasing their students early on Wednesday in recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday. There is no school on the following Thursday and Friday.

The Olequa Senior Center will be closed as well this Thursday and Friday. They wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

The Winlock Timberland Library, after being closed Thursday and Friday, will be hosting Snowflake Day on Saturday. This event will be going on throughout the day, and all ages are invited to drop into the library to cut, quill, and curl gorgeous paper snowflakes. For more information on this or future programs, please contact the library at (360) 785-3461.

That just about wraps it up this week. Not a lot going on, as I’m sure you’ve noticed. Have a wonderful holiday, guys, and be sure not to overdose on pumpkin pie or turkey.
